On Ken and Kathy Player's gazillion inch television, the supposedly "second string" workshop in Phoenix, AZ on March 23-25, 2001, came to a startling realization: by all measurements they were whupping up on the varsity skaters of two weeks previous with longer pushes, more fully extended legs and greater fall angles! Participants in the second workshop were first rate in every category, showing their stuff by working it in grueling heat on the black asphalt of Castles and Coasters. Young talent was plentiful, as Kevin, David and Jim showed the older generations a thing or two about balance and finesse, while the young-at-heart showed the kids about hard work and desire. A workshop in Arizona may give cause to estivate, but at the very least it inspires you to continue expanding your skating consciousness. Take Don for example. Don had given up skating for over four years and came to the workshop for a jump start. After over 16 hours of fist-pumping fun, Don got the boost he needed. Now he's fully recessitated and skating for life. The workshop was hit like high pressure with the best stuff from TWINCAM bearings, Explore wheels, Salomon, Transpack, Wigwam, and Raymond Verdaguer designs. skatecentral |
