Phoenix ushered in the spring inline season with a monumental weekend of skating instruction and practice at the Eddy Matzger Access to Speed Workshop, April 16-18, 1999.

25 skaters exercised a healthy mix of amusement and daring-do in a parking lot adjacent to Phoenix's thrilling roller-coaster ride. Skaters confronted their own fears on wheeled coasters of another sort, their own inline skates.

The desert sun was a big bright spot but nothing compared to the high horsepower enthusiasm emanating from the skaters throughout the weekend. Young kids and old birds alike inspired aspiring skaters to keep up the good fight and keep the work playful.
