Skaters bent on getting better with age met budding talent and bloomed en masse at the Eddy Matzger Workshop April 27 - 29, 2001, in Philadelphia, PA. Participants converged on the Art Museum and West River Drive along the Schuykill River like high pressure from all parts of the map. You couldn't help but get swept up in the non-stop whirlwind of activity, commencing with stretching and twisting and progressing to gliding and pushing drills designed to get everybody 100 percent behind every stroke.

The Cherry Street Tavern served as the lively location for the video critique, where guys like Dino and 10 year-old Santiago wowed the crowd with deep skating positions that defied belief and even gravity itself.

As if Saturday wasn't enough to tire the whole lot out, Sunday saw gamers re-convening for more good stuff. The double push kept eager inliners occupied for the better part of the day, and if you had any confusion or doubts initially, they got dispelled with drills that took you towards the kernel one step at a time.

Philadelphia, NYC and DC area skaters were passionate about skating and dedicated to improvement. Learning seemed a cinch in the positively charged atmosphere of a weekend workshop.
