Welcome to the inside of the skating pleasure dome, where there's a hearty grin in progress. Bernie's obviously in a good mood. He has survived 8 hours on skates and is still rearing to go. Just back of where Bernie's standing is the upper concourse of Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. You can see it on the other side of the field just under his chin. It's about a kilometer per lap. On wintry weeknights, between 200 and 600 skaters cruise the concourses of the the air-inflated dome. It's quite a sight.
