Bliss on skates could be found in Roseville, MN, where for two EXTRA HOT days some mighty fine folks came together to fine tune their strokes in revelatory fashion.
Skating nirvana comes with a price, though. For it all to make sense, the instructor will have to beat it into you like some ecstatic ascetic.
Just ask birthday girl Sue. Hurting after so many countless hours of abuse from the coach, she was literally beaten into submission as she crawled through the spanking tunnel just so she could have her cake and eat it too,
Young bucks and old geezers alike (like Alex and Al) engaged in immortal combat and kept the workshop rollicking for 16 solid hours, supplying enough emotion and human drama to start a new Emmy award winning mini-series.
Workshoppers patiently plotted their course and then proceeded to connect the dots as if on an adventure race road map.
"Now I know where I need to go and how far to get there," said one who was in the driver's seat.
"Oh my god, my feet hurt, my thighs hurt, but I learned a lot!"
Helping to make the workshop an overwhelming success were Salomon skates, TWINCAM bearings, Explore wheels, Wigwam socks, Transpack, Raymond Verdaguer designs, Bobward Flynn, and I. Heart Barrie.
