Jerry and Colleen hosted the biggest, most boisterous workshop of the year in Long Beach, CA, October 6-8 2000. The level of excitement and energy exhibited by skaters from Northern California, Arizona, San Diego, Switzerland, and Finland was so high you would have thought it was spring training.

Some were newbies. Others were returnees. All came to sharpen their skills so they could be wielded later with new confidence whether on a fun skate or in a competitive situation.

Skaters spent all day Saturday and Sunday practicing the pieces that go into making a complete skating package. Because the objective was to become a more complete, balanced, skater, special attention was always given to people's weak sides.

The rewards were ample. Personal satisfaction was the number one prize, but it never hurt to receive group adulation as inidividuals were singled out all weekend long to demonstrate their proficiency at one drill or another.

Nearly every participant felt fired up by the end of the exhaustive survey course that was the workshop. Everybody had the goal of finishing the upcoming Long Beach Marathon in speed and in style.

The workshop was epically sponsored hometown sponsor Explore wheels, TWINCAM bearings, Transpack, Salomon skates, Wigwam socks, and Raymond Verdaguer designs.
