Roger and Virginia hosted a heckuva workshop in Irvine, CA, bringing fresh faces to the skating establishment in Southern California. Skaters worked like the season was just getting going, devoting one hundred of their energies to becoming better skaters.

Better skaters everybody became. A methodical approach to skills helped participants dissect complex motions like the double push into basic components before putting it all together like shooby-dooby-doo-whap.

At Irvine the need for speed was contagious. Even those who came seeking only to improve their skills found themselves swept up in the excitement of going screaming fast and wanted more and more.

People got decked out in team colors to celebrate their newfound speed in the stage race. Teams banded together and raced against the clock, indviduals tested their individual mettle in two-lap time-trials, and everybody went off cleanly in the pretend 10K race.

Special thanks to Salomon, TWINCAM bearings, Explore wheels, Transpack, Wigwam, and Raymond Verdaguer for the sweet skating schwag!
