Aloha skaters! Honolulu provided the ideal atmosphere for a workshop experience: sun, ocean breezes, a dedicated bunch of fun-spirited students, a fully-supportive fire-department nearby, and plenty of pavement on which to practice for the big time.

Skaters converged on the Hawaiian hotspot from parts as far away as Japan and spots on the mainland as diverse as Florida and Wisconsin. 67 year-old Yugi wowed everybody with his youthful vigor and determination. He finished second overall in the mock stage race!

Hostess Ginny Hench brought her own delightful blend of intellectual zaniness to the workshop in prodigious amounts. Nonstop levity was provided by others as well, such as Rick, who fell more times than Charlie Brown.

The Access to Speed Workshop was outfitted by Salomon, TWINCAM, Explore, Transpack, PowerBar, Wigwam, and Bobward Flynn.
