![]() An overflow workshop of skate crazy Japanese actualized with the speed of a flash flood in Doman, Japan, October 25, 2002. Yuge and Su-G were honorable hosts and improvised like jazz players to secure a covered location for a wet-weather workshop. There were no damp spirits. 15 lively skaters busted down the double doors and broke out with some precision skating on a surface the size of a tennis court. This proved valuble, forcing skaters to focus heavily on technique over raw speed. The interactions were so fantastic and fun that the workshop ran overtime to accomodate all the sunbursts of energy. Street skaters, speedskaters, and fun skaters all profited immensely by gaining truckloads of solid skating information and tremendous goodies from sponsors like Salomon, TWINCAM, Explore, Transpack, Wigwam, and Raymond Verdaguer. The skate scene is getting hard core in Japan. Watch out world, these are some of the best students bar none and they will take great measures to master the skating thang! |
