Ta Ui Moe Na (the "I have a dream" inline roller association) succeeded in mobilizing more than 50 participants to skate 10 kilometers to generate money for a good cause: research for genetic diseases.

At their sides, invited especially for the occasion, was American Eddy Matzger, who comes to Tahiti a number of times every year to counsel and train the young members of the association.

The kids on their Salomon skates, generously donated in numbers approaching 100, weren't the only ones to arrive in Papeete, where a big party was awaiting them at McDonalds. They were joined by about 90 bicyclists who had already turned a few pedal strokes in going completely around the island of Tahiti, a scenic journey of 128 kilometers.

Eddy joined them for the complete island tour, while young Marius completed the last half. All in all, it was a beautiful thing. Eddy and Marius scored live TV time and space in the newspapers. Together, they and the cyclists managed to raise almost two thousand dollars for the cause. Vive Tahiti!
