Here's Cooper trudging up to Kibo hut at about 15,000 feet, only 3 degrees south of the equator! Still with skates on, the snow was a welcome change from the rain. Normally, there's no snow until well past 18,000 feet. This was a bizarre year with bizarre happenings on the mountain. Chalk it up to another El Nino event!
