Put on skates in the Amish country and you'll see how a sense of play and congeniality transcends the seriousness of the culture. Magazine editors, the principals at Zephyr Tours, choice representatives of Salomon skates, and Eddy Matzger found this out for themselves, May 1-2, 1999 while skating in and around Pennsylvanian towns, towns with curious names like Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse, and Blue Ball.

Skates were a common bond. Amish kids let us into their world. Thanks to them for their most precious treats of friendship and trust! Sweeter than whoopie pieany day!
