Seattle Super Skate

The Seattle Skate for MS raised big bucks and lots of awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. 300 fired-up inliners skated their hearts out for the cause along the Sanmammish River multi-use path.

A scenic corridor and the smell of ripening blackberries tempted participants to take their time on the cool, 25 mile jaunt from Redmond to Seattle. Local area skeelers and British Colombian speedsters led the charge and cried out "300 more on their way!" every time they passed another trail user

Colorful Seattle-based skater James Wohlford cleared the way at intersections for the mixed pack of leaders. Oftentimes 11 year old Nikki was leading the charge, or maybe it was Connie from Vancouver who made the men hang out their tongues with effort.

The event was ably organized by Ricardo Sitchin and a cavalcade of volunteers, and promises to be another not-to-be-missed event on the 2001 inline calendar. Well done to all the help and to all the skaters!

Check out the results of all 248 finishers!
