The ILQ-9 Eddy Matzger Workshop felt right at home in the South Korean cities of Busan, Daegu, and Seoul, stirring up a typhoon of interest and goodwill in the process. On eight separate three-hour training occasions, nearly 300 fanatic inliners experienced the best of the workshop and became better and more motivated skaters.

The workshop came in two day installments, from 7-10 pm on weekdays and 1-4 pm on Saturday, and put skaters on the fast track to improvement. Korean skaters tackled drills with incredible drive and devotion. "I admire your warm heart, fun and happy way. Of course, your class was excellent," wrote one student.

Students were both challenged and entertained. They learned classic skating, crossovers, double push, stopping, and strategy. It was easy to overload and overexert in a mere three hours, but Korean skaters were eager learners and kept coming back for more. Large crowds soaked up Eddy's demonstrations, understanding enough basic English, body language, and chalk to get the idea in a big way.

The buzz began in Busan and continued on to Daegu before reaching its crescendo in Seoul, where Olympic Park served as the site for two of most successful workshops, made possible by the generous support of Powerinline Sports Shop

Special thanks to W.K., Ms. Artweb and Sung Ho for logistical support, to Bobward for whipping up so many tshirts on such notice, and to all the Korean workshop students who helped fix a new regular stop onto the workshop circuit!
