Catch the glow of the Northshore skaters as they truck on down route 61 from Two Harbors to Duluth. It was a day that will live long in our memories. There was remembering associated with September's grief, but also exalting in the simple realization that we were alive and well enough just to skate.

Then there was the sheer accomplishment of smiling through fatigue in the face of ferocious headwinds. That was cause for beaming with pride. Even if some of us kissed the ground, we still got back up and trundled down the highway chest out and head held high.

Spectrally colored clothing and joyous emotional outbursts gave the day a flavor you'll forever want to savor, a day when faces told the multitude of compelling stories on marathon day. Challenges were set and met and even exceeded. Check out some of the faces of the greatest skaters at the Northshore Inline Marathon.
