TWINCAM/Salomon racer Eddy Matzger ate the field like a piranha at the Great River Roll, July 28, 2001. The Twin Cities are also home of Asia Acess Inc.'s TWINCAM bearings. Want to race? Come to the Great River Roll! Want to just roll your heart out? Come to the Great River Roll! This inline roll felt like a festival on wheels, with plenty of sponsor backing and down-home decorating. Everybody's hearts raced along the mighty Mississippi river's banks. Adrenaline spiked to flood stage when skaters crossed the river -- TWICE! - and then headed back to finish with tremendous fanfare and sirens in Minnehaha Park. In the land of Rollerblade and Ultra Wheels, it was Salomon that ruled in Minneapolis. Not only were Salomon skates present in droves amongst the 800 plus participant, but they were also THE major manufacturer present at the demo area and the first skates across the line in the 2001 Great River Roll.
